Shortly afterward, he accepted a position with Hemmerle Development, where he worked as an in-house counsel focused on real estate litigation. He successfully navigated complex legal challenges in commercial property disputes, earning a reputation for being practical and highly capable.
Expanding His International Influence
In 1990, Andrew’s career took on an international dimension when he became Director of Operations for Maria Pia, an Italian footwear company winding down its American operations. Due to his proficiency in Italian and strong negotiation skills, he was pivotal in efficiently liquidating assets and resolving outstanding debts after the company closed its Manhattan offices. This role significantly strengthened his expertise in cross-border business and asset management.
From 1991 to 1994, he served as General Counsel and Director of International Sales at Intracorp, Inc., a Miami-based developer of video gaming software. In this position, Andrew secured rights from Hollywood studios to transform popular movies into video games, managing extensive international distribution networks and sales. Under his guidance, Intracorp expanded significantly, growing from a small startup to a robust organization employing over 100 people and positioning itself for an initial public offering.
Establishing a Thriving Legal Practice
In 1994, he founded the Law Offices of Andrew Byer, dedicating his practice to assisting European companies aiming to establish themselves in the United States. Fluent in Italian and proficient in French and Spanish, he provided invaluable guidance in navigating American business law, market entry strategies, and compliance issues. Andrew founded Magnum Opus Audio, a specialized audio boutique in Fort Lauderdale, FL, providing audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts with state-of-the-art audio technology and equipment.
Magnum Opus Audio initially flourished due to its dedication to customer service and technical excellence. However, Internet sales rapidly rose, and consumer purchasing behavior shifts eventually led to challenging market conditions. Despite his best efforts, he decided to close the business in 2015.
Real Estate and Strategic Investments
Following Magnum Opus Audio’s closure, he leveraged his extensive legal and business experience to enter commercial real estate investment and management. In 2015, he founded AJ&J Holdings, LLC, a company dedicated to strategic investments in commercial properties. Andrew’s insights into market dynamics and his analytical and negotiation skills contributed to his success in identifying profitable real estate opportunities.
Expanding further in 2024, he established Bozhlona, Inc., a specialized property management company. Through Bozhlona, he oversees various commercial properties' daily operations and strategic management, applying his deep knowledge of legal structures and business strategy to maximize performance and profitability.
